BarDIMM Pro and HP FutureSmart 5 version 5.8 or newer

Ugrading to BarDIMM Pro 9.0 or newer is mandatory starting with HP FutureSmart 5.8

!Before upgrading HP LaserJet printers to firmware FutureSmart 5 version 5.8 or greater, you need to upgrade BarDIMM Pro firmware to version 9.0 or greater. This does not apply to FS Classic printers (released before Jan 1, 2022).

*This requirement is due to a change in the FutureSmart 5.8 printer firmware

HP printers running FutureSmart Modern 5.8 Firmware with cause BarDIMM Pro version 8.x to crash at boot-time. To resolve do:

• Verify all your BarDIMM Pro are covered by an active support contract
• Contact Celiveo to request the BarDIMM Pro 9.0 upgrade package for FS Modern 5.8
• That package name is “BarDIMM Pro 9.0 Upgrade Pack for HP FS Modern 5.8 and later.zip”
• Unzip the file on a local folder. It contains the following files:
  • BarDIMMPro-HPFSModerm-BarDIMM-LAN-DeactivateUSB.pjl
  • BarDIMMPro-M9.0M.pjl
• Download the celiveosend9100.exe utility from the BarDIMM support portal That utility allows to send easily firmware file to printers.
• Open a command prompt and cd to the directory where the files were decompressed
• For each printer to upgrade:
  • Send the BarDIMMPro-HPFSModerm-BarDIMM-LAN-DeactivateUSB.pjl file
    • celiveosend9100 BarDIMMPro-HPFSModerm-BarDIMM-LAN-DeactivateUSB.pjl printerIPaddress
    • Example: celiveosend9100 BarDIMMPro-HPFSModerm-BarDIMM-LAN-DeactivateUSB.pjl 192.168.100.120
  • Wait 10 seconds that the code is run (this is a critical step)
  • Send the BarDIMMPro-M9.0M.pjl file
    • celiveosend9100 BarDIMMPro-M9.0M.pjl printerIPaddress
    • Exemple: celiveosend9100 BarDIMMPro-M9.0M.pjl 192.168.100.120
  • The printer will reboot automatically and BarDIMM Pro version 9.0 will be installed
  • You can now upgrade the printer firmware to FutureSmart 5 version 5.8 or newer
