Powering the BarDIMM Box

The BarDIMM Box can be powered in two different manners, both are available in the standard product.

Powered by the Printer USB Connector or a USB charger

• The “Jack-tot-USB” is a cable to power the BarDIMM Box from a USB-A female available on the Printer or on a locally sourced USB charger
• No need for external power supply if the printer features an always-on USB plug with 500mA power
• No extra wall plug required if the printer features an always-on USB plug with 500mA power
• The BarDIMM Box needs up to 120s to boot

!A printer USB A port needs to be powered permanently, even during (deep) sleep mode otherwise the BarDIMM Box will be powered off and network communication is stopped

Powered using the external power supply

• 5 to 12v 2A external power supply
• C14 output
• C14 Y cable to get power from the printer existing power cable
• BarDIMM Box is not OFF when printer is OFF.
• No spare wall plug required thanks to the supplied Y split cable
  

Note: Electrostatic Discharges (ESD) will not damage the BarDIMM Box but may reboot it in case of very high intensity.

Countries where special local certification is needed for power supplies

Some countries do not accept the standard BarDIMM Box Power Supply, due to regulations requiring local manufacturing or certification.

The power supplied used in the Europe – Middle-East – Africa region features the following certifications:

If the regional power supply can’t be shipped to your country, you can connect the “Jack-to-USB” cable to any locally sourced USB charger that delivers at least 2A.
